Lauren Uher has worked in the mental health and developmental fields within the community for the past nine years in various capacities. She has provided counselling services to children, youth and adults experiencing various concerns such as anxiety, depression, anger, OCD, oppositional defiance, low self-esteem, stress and loss. While Lauren practices common treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, she believes in a holistic approach to ensure the best outcome for each individual. Lauren recognizes the power of the Mind-Body Connection through Mindfulness and Yoga Principles, and often incorporates these teachings into her work with individuals.
Lauren works in the community doing crisis intervention work, is a yoga instructor, and offers mindfulness drop-in groups for youth. Lauren earned her Bachelor of Social Work at King’s University College, and her Master of Social Work, with a clinical focus, at the University of Western Ontario. She is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
Lauren practices from a person-centered, holistic approach, which involves meeting each individual where they are, and tailoring each intervention to the needs of the individual from evidence-based practices in order to achieve the best outcome. Lauren has a particular interest in finding wellness through art, yoga, mindfulness and creative forms of emotion expression.
Lauren enjoys traveling, volunteering locally and abroad, and currently lives in Chatham-Kent with her partner and their furry four-legged friend, Remi.
